We think our fans will really love your photo and we would love to share it with them on our social media channels! Here are some guidelines on usage rights for your image:

What do I need to know?

Tourism Ireland is the official organisation responsible for marketing the island of Ireland overseas as a holiday destination and we work closely with our sister agencies Fáilte Ireland & Tourism Northern Ireland

By responding to our message request with the Hashtag, you represent and warrant that:

• you are an individual eighteen (18) years of age or older;

• you own all rights in and to your photos and they are not copied from any third parties;

• you have permission from any adult(s) appearing in your photos to grant the rights herein;

• you have permission of parent/legal guardian where minors who have not yet reached the age of 16 may be featured;

• that you have read and that you agree to the following terms and conditions set out below.

What happens when I respond with one of your hashtags?

By responding to our request message with one of our Hashtags, you grant us permission to use your photo or videos in Tourism Ireland, Fáilte Ireland and Tourism Northern Ireland content as follows:

• You grant Tourism Ireland and its sister agencies a non-exclusive, royalty free license to use your photo / video on our worldwide, owned social media channels.

What this means

This means by responding with one of Hashtags to our request message or posting content with the Hashtag, you assign Tourism Ireland and its sister agencies the right to use the photos or videos on their global social media channels in perpetuity. However, Tourism Ireland shall have no obligation to use your photo.

Should Tourism Ireland and its sister agencies wish to use the photo / video in paid advertising activity, marketing materials or channels other than our owned social media channels, we will contact you first to confirm usage permissions for use as part of these additional activities, materials or channels.

Ownership of the photo / video content remains with the original content owner.

What do I get out of this?

Your photos may be viewed not only by you, but also by other fans of Ireland around the world. You have the opportunity to inspire others with your own self-expression and creativity. As at June 2021, Tourism Ireland currently has over 4.6m million followers on Facebook; 973,000 on Instagram, 530,000 on Twitter, 58,000 on YouTube and 25,000 on Pinterest.

Tourism Ireland will credit you for any images shared on social media. Our license is non-exclusive, meaning you can still use your photos and videos for your own purposes and let others use them for their purposes too.

Data Privacy

We respect your privacy and we value the trust you have put in us.

In reaching out to you about your photos, we necessarily process your social media username. We only use this personal information for the purposes described above.

We are committed to keeping your personal information safe. We have physical, technical and administrative measures in place to prevent unauthorised access or use of your information.

What if I change my mind?

If you change your mind you can simply revoke the granting of these rights to Tourism Ireland by contacting us directly on our social channels or emailing us at Sadmin@tourismireland.com

You can ask Tourism Ireland to stop using your images at any time, in which case it will not be used in future publications.

Note: this will not apply to material already published. Tourism Ireland / Fáilte Ireland / Tourism Northern Ireland cannot control or recall previously published material.
